Fashioning Fur

Let's face it, H3O is obsessed with Carine Roitfeld, French Vogue's visionary editor-in-chief. So it is fitting that H3O's latest standout collection, the New York brand Ohne Titel, this season is causing a stir...about fur...and her! Carine Roitfeld loves Ohne Titel and it's super luxe furs so much, that she wore the brand's full length green fox fur coat to almost every show during NY Fashion Week. Alexa Adams, one of the designers of Ohne Titel, has discovered a new way of working with fur, to make it lighter and softer. She was interviewed in the NY Times, and here is an excerpt:

"In Denmark, Ms. Adams said, she learned of a technique of sewing extremely thin, evenly spaced strips of fox onto a layer of silk, creating the look of a fox coat with a third of the weight and expense. For their show, she and Ms. Gill showed a version in army green. Carine Roitfeld, the editor of French Vogue, admired it, so the designers sent the sample, which would cost $10,400 in a store, to her hotel for her to wear throughout Fashion Week. Ms. Roitfeld was photographed so often in the coat that they decided she could keep it."

H3Oも大好きなフランスVogueのトップエディターであるカリーヌは、今シーズンからH3Oにて取り扱いはじめたOhne Titelの、

特にファーアイテムの大ファンです。

フルレングスのグリーンフォックスファーコートを、NYファッションウィーク中ほぼ毎日着ていました。Ohne Titelのデザイナーの一人、Alexa Adams（アレクサ・アダムス）は、ファーをもっとソフトで軽くする新しい方法を思いつきました。　NYタイムズのインタヴューによると、

” デンマークで、フォックスをシルクの上に重ねて縫うテクニックを学び、重さやコストを抑えてフォックスコートのルックを作る事ができるようになった。”と答えています。ショーでは、色々なバリエーションのア−ミーグリーンを披露し、フレンチVogueのエディターであるカリーヌ・ロイトフェルドは、これを大変気に入りました。そこで、デザイナーの２人は店頭で$10,400するアイテムのサンプルを彼女のホテルに届け、カリーヌはファッションウィーク中それをずっと着てくれたのでした。その様子は彼女がこのコートを着用して多くのスナップ写真に写った事でもわかるでしょう。
